Concept

This bookmark, symbolizing the 'Gat', a traditional hat representing a Confucian scholar (seonbi) in the Joseon Dynasty, is crafted from organdy fabric embroidered with delicate patterns. It can be placed inside books, notebooks, or other reading materials.

Features

The bookmark is made using traditional Korean organdy with embroidery, fixed onto a piece of hanji paper printed with the image of a seonbi, and presented in a translucent envelope.

Inspired by the depiction of a scholar in the "Iwon Girohoe Gyecheop" of the Joseon Dynasty, the design reinterprets the elegance of the past into a lightweight and modern form. We hope this small accessory will share the beauty of Korean traditional culture in everyday life.
