Concept

Ballpoint Pen (Jokduri) is a smooth-writing water-based ballpoint pen.

It is inspired by the 'Jokduri' (also called jokgwan), a type of ceremonial coronet traditionally worn by women in the Joseon Dynasty with formal attire. Each red, yellow, and blue tassel hanging down over the forehead is hand-threaded and handcrafted.

A jokduri is a six-sided hat covered with black silk, wider at the top and tapering toward the bottom. The inside is padded with cotton, and the center is left hollow so it can rest comfortably on the head.

Queens and crown princesses wore chilbo jokduri (decorated with seven treasures), while the wives of princes, as well as princesses and royal concubines, wore mokdan-colored jokduri adorned with peonies, coral, pearls, and other ornaments.

Features

The decorative “fancy dress” on the Ballpoint Pen (Jokduri), which prevents the pen body from getting dirty, is replaceable. It is made with tumble fabric, so if loose fibers naturally shed, simply remove them with adhesive tape to keep it clean and well maintained.

Notes

- This product is handcrafted. Pulling or applying excessive force to the decorations may cause deformation
- The decorative cover is heat-attached and may come off with wear; if stained, please hand-wash gently
