Concept
Baegak Chunhyodo(The Spring Dawn of Mt. Baekak) by An Jung-sik is a seminal work created around 1915, portraying Gyeongbokgung Palace and Mt. Baekak. Painted during the Japanese colonial period, the piece reflects An Jung-sik’s deep yearning to restore the dignity and stature of the royal palace - then reduced to a commercial space - and to envision a renewed spring for the Joseon dynasty.
At DESIGN HOUSE HYE, this masterpiece has been reimagined with a modern sensibility. Featuring HYE’s signature colors - green, symbolizing hope, and a serene blue background - the artwork is brought to life through delicate line illustrations and a fresh, contemporary palette.
