Concept

This notebook is inspired by the artwork featured on the Jeonju National Museum’s representative artifact, the White Porcelain Flask with Flower Plant Design.

Relic

White Porcelain Flask with Flower Plant Design

This white porcelain flask features a flattened hexagonal body with lugs on either side, allowing for a cord to be attached. The surface is coated with a soft yellowish glaze, and both the front and back are bordered with a single-line frame. Within these frames, a design of dianthus flowers (commonly known as pinks), insects, and bats is rendered in underglaze cobalt blue. The colors are richly saturated, and the brushwork is highly stylized, emphasizing decorative patterns over naturalistic representation.
